Custom 3D printed part designed to replace the original cycloid/circle pad of the Nintendo NESMax. This fits a D-Pad or Thumbstick in place of the cycloid to improve the feel of the controller and make it more like a regular NES pad. It's easy to install, just unscrew the controller apart, take out the old part and place the new one in. The circular rim is angled to match the contour of the NESMax so you just have to pay attention to its orientation before you close everything up. This kit also works with the MSX Sony Joypad JS-303T and Famicom BPS-MAX controllers!!
NESMax controller is not included. Installation of the kit is the responsibility of the buyer.
D-pads are great for platformers like Mario or Mega Man where you would expect the feel of a standard NES controller. Low profile, quick and simple.
Thumbsticks are best for SHMUPS, games like Crystalis or Guardian Legend where you have an overhead view and are expected to move in multiple directions. This is not an analog stick, it is simply a traditional joystick, similar to the NES Advantage stick which uses rubber domes for on/off input. Taller profile, more leverage.
